Default runway markings

i was reading a forum thread over at helifreak about how to mark a closed runway with a large "X" at each end such as the one at jaxrc. The faa rule also says the "X" should be yellow, ours is not. im just curious as to if we are within the guidelines or if the is more to it then what ive read on the other forum. and no im not starting any trouble im just interested in this.

what is out at jaxrc may not be an actual runway so thats why im asking

bill

Exactly, it's not a runway and is marked as such with an X so it doesn't end up mistaken for one

If it were an actual runway on a chart that was closed either permanently or temporarily, then it would need whatever the FAA guideline requires.
